Double feature: About the Exam and the Cold

Today’s exam was amusing. By my reckoning, you could finish it in 4 minutes if you knew everything. But your humble servant, in futile attempts to cheat or recall the answers to some of the questions, sat there for a whole half hour instead of the allotted two. I think the result will be pretty good—I’m definitely counting on an 8 or 9.

As for the cold weather, which has reached Riga too:
The only thing more fun than frost and extremely high humidity is the same thing plus a strong wind in your face. Invigorating, sir!
At least, that’s what my colleague, the steel robot Terminator Valerych, says as he proudly strides along with his jacket wide open.
As I write this, my fingers are going numb and ceasing to move because a sepulchral draft is blowing in through the window.
But the good news is that there’s cheap mass-produced mulled wine in the cupboard. A whole litre in a plastic bag. It just needs heating up, and the gas is still working properly. After all, this isn’t Ukraine but the prim Baltics, where problems are dealt with in advance.
